Mix and Match Sofas and Chairs
When I was growing up my family would always buy a 3 piece suite for our Living Room, which normally consisted of a sofa and two matching armchairs. They would also be either brown or a funny cream colour, which my grandmother would always refer to as coffee and cream, She'd declare to anyone and everyone that 'coffee and cream can be matched to any other colour' which is true, unfortunately she only ever bought matching, coffee and cream three piece suites.
As time went on it was very fashionable to purchase a Three Seat sofa, a Two Seat sofa and a matching armchair. Again very boring.
Today fortunately for the consumer sofas can be purchased in a variety of shapes, colours and textures and mixed together to give your room some of your personality.
I love the idea of mixing and matching sofas and chairs. I often buy second hand and have furniture customised to suit my clients needs. This is not as expensive as it sounds, trust me I do it all the time.
So today I've got some combinations of chairs and sofas to inspire you to try something a little different, step out of the 'match everything' box.

This last picture is my living room, I like to pick up secondhand furniture and re upholster. The sideboard was made out of an old wardrobe which currently houses a very large record player.
